Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

a multicoloured image of melting crayons

Its been one of those weekends – fun, frolics and family time. We’ve been in London due to work and decided to make the most of it so the London Eye, walking along the Southbank, the Natural History Museum, Chinatown – and the family ran the Sports Relief Mile in the Mall. The sun shone and all was great.

Arrived back at my apartment (I am staying on in London for a day or so) ready to make a start on the endless to do list – and you know what? I didn’t do much. Potted around the fringes of it, tidying up a few emails, downloading a few photos, crossing a few things out in my diary and writing in new ones.

The big things – they had to wait. Sometimes that feel good feeling is too good to waste on work.

People have been trying to get me to understand that down time – that’s important too. Maybe the message is sinking in.

Its morning now and I’m eager to get started on the day – perhaps I could get used to this resting thing?
